Retrieved 2015-7-8.〕 ==Early life== He was the son of Paschal Conley, one of the Conley siblings who formed the original Conley Family in the early 1800s. Conley attended Alabama A&M University founded on land granted by his father Paschal Conley I, and uncles William Conley and Green Conley. Conley was the first member of the prominent Conley Family to serve in the United States Military, the first of the family's Buffalo Soldiers. He was raised at the family homestead on the outskirts of Huntsville, Alabama with his siblings Fannie, Sallie Ann, and Mahalia.
